I have my list and I checked it twice!

I understand how Santa and his elves must feel when it’s the week before Christmas and all the toys need to be finished and ready for delivery! The shop has been going nonstop with new projects, old projects, and trips down memory lane. The guys and I had the pleasure of completing one of those trips down memory lane for a special customer of ours recently. He has owned the car since college and it’s the same car he and his girlfriend, now wife, rode around the University of Texas in during their college years. To see the expressions on their faces and the huge smiles they had as they drove off down Highway 90 was awesome. I am so honored that our guys were able to give them that experience.

As soon as they left it was back to the grind again – Viper, Chevelle, Grand Prix, Camaro, Duster, Mustang, and the list goes onnnnnnn. No rest for the weary – I think is how the saying goes right? The guys and I were definitely ready for Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year holidays. Even though it was only a few days off we got to re-charge our batteries and get ready for the next few months ahead. We have a total of 70+ cars in the works right now so I hope the boys all got running shoes for Christmas.

We have worked on our fair share of celebrities vehicles and currently we have a special Camaro that is about to be finished up. It belongs to Jerry Hughes who plays for the Buffalo Bills. He is excited to get 700+ hp to the rear wheels soon! I am so honored to work on their vehicles because these guys could take their cars anywhere but they choose to bring them to us. The wrestler Booker T would make it a tradition that when he came in he would pretend like he was really angry with me – the looks on the customer’s faces were priceless!

I find myself getting discouraged in many situations like when I get the wrong parts, employees call in sick, nothing ever fits like it should, extra time spent on something that normally takes 5 minutes, (Cheri, I know I said I’d be home). I have to remind myself of Joshua 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” … even when you arrive home late.
